The Courtyard House is a contemporary 300 m² private residence located in Hillah, Babylon Governorate, Iraq. The design is organized around a central courtyard that fills the interior with natural light while strengthening the relationship between architecture and landscape. A restrained palette of white surfaces, natural wood, stone, and glass creates a calm spatial atmosphere where every space maintains a visual connection to the courtyard.Large skylights illuminate the heart of the home throughout the day, while integrated greenery and water features introduce nature into everyday living. Carefully crafted wooden elements—from doors and staircases to ceilings and balconies—add warmth and texture, balancing minimalist architecture with timeless materiality.The project was fully designed and executed by CO ECO COR, combining architecture, interior design, landscape, and construction within a unified design vision.

Project OverviewThis project reimagines the passenger experience within Basrah International Airport through the renovation of the main waiting hall and public restroom facilities. The design introduces a contemporary architectural language focused on comfort, clarity, and operational efficiency while respecting the functional demands of a high-traffic transportation hub.The intervention prioritizes spaciousness, intuitive circulation, and a calm visual atmosphere. Natural materials, balanced lighting, and carefully selected finishes work together to create an environment that feels welcoming, durable, and timeless for both domestic and international travelers.Design ConceptThe project is based on the idea that airports are more than transit spaces—they are the first architectural experience visitors have of a city.The design therefore emphasizes openness, simplicity, and human comfort. Warm timber elements soften the scale of the large interior, while neutral finishes and integrated greenery contribute to a relaxed and inviting environment. Every design decision aims to improve passenger wellbeing without compromising operational performance.Passenger Waiting HallThe waiting hall was reorganized to enhance circulation, visibility, and seating flexibility. Modular furniture arrangements allow different passenger groups to occupy the space comfortably while maintaining clear movement paths.Wood-clad structural elements, integrated planters, acoustic ceiling systems, and layered lighting create a contemporary public environment that balances functionality with warmth.Public RestroomsThe restroom facilities were redesigned to meet contemporary airport standards through durable materials, hygienic detailing, and simplified maintenance solutions.The interior combines porcelain flooring, ceramic wall finishes, timber panels, and indirect lighting to create a clean, comfortable, and easily maintained environment. Accessibility, user comfort, and long-term operational efficiency formed the basis of every design decision.

On just 130 square meters, this house breathes life. A simple 6.5 × 20 m rectangle, yet it opens up through a long skylight, flooding the space with natural light that dances over raw concrete, warm wood, and lush greenery. The living area and kitchen flow seamlessly, connected by an indoor garden, where a wooden dining table revives family rituals. A 1.2-meter elevation leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms, offering privacy and serenity. The upper floor overlooks the void, extending the horizon with no barriers. Here, sustainability is not added—it is lived. It breathes in the light, the textures, the details… in the soul of the home.

A Home-Inspired Fast Dining Space

Project OverviewThe 40 Street Urban Regeneration Project reimagines one of Al-Hilla's most important urban corridors through a series of interconnected public spaces designed to encourage social interaction, improve pedestrian experience, and strengthen the city's visual identity.The project consists of multiple urban squares, each responding to its immediate context while sharing a unified architectural language, landscape strategy, and material palette.

Interior Courtyard: The design includes a central swimming pool, bringing a sense of freshness and tranquility. The large glass windows and doors with arches enhance the classical and traditional architectural feel while providing good natural lighting. The use of the same natural and sky-blue colors is repeated here, connecting the overall design. The presence of plants within the courtyard adds natural beauty and enhances the feeling of relaxation.

Artistic composition This design showcases a corridor in a showroom with a modern and elegant style. The dark walls create a sense of sophistication, while the glass elements provide openness and transparency. Thoughtfully designed geometric lighting from above adds an attractive contrast to the dark background, enhancing the dynamic atmosphere. The walls feature neatly arranged 3D art pieces, adding a creative and cultural touch. The polished concrete flooring ties the space together, balancing modernity and simplicity in a harmonious design.

Located on a unique triangular plot, the architectural design of this specialized medical center confronts the spatial challenge with a bold and rational solution. The project turns the site's constraints into opportunities by embracing its geometry and carving a functional, calm, and welcoming spatial experience.

The Fifth Dimension – A Home with Architectural SoulThis house is not just a composition of walls and ceilings — it is an attempt to create a "fifth dimension" that transcends physical space and touches the emotional core. Designed for those who seek comfort and identity, the project balances solid and void, silence and movement. It invites its residents into a space that feels uniquely their own.At the heart of the design lies the central courtyard — the breathing core — where light becomes the unseen material that shapes the day.Natural textures like brick, wood, and earthy tones ground the home in simplicity, while subtle details create depth and intimacy. Every corner tells a quiet story. Every void allows for reflection. Here, architecture doesn't impose — it gently accompanies life.

Institutional Identity Through Mass and Facade The bank building embodies the concept of institutional strength through a clear architectural language based on solid massing and precise vertical lines. The façade is composed of formed concrete panels that emphasize the geometric rhythm and give the building a monumental presence without exaggeration. Meanwhile, the metal details finished with a patinated coating play an important role in softening the rigidity of the façade, adding a visual balance between material austerity and urban dynamism. The transparent ground floor integrates with the public realm through glazed façades and low urban landscaping, strengthening the relationship between interior and exterior spaces while creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors.

Overall, the design of Kentucky Home reflects a thoughtful integration of materials, colors, and textures. The use of stainless steel alongside wood, ceramics, fabrics, and greenery creates a balanced interior that is durable, contemporary, and inviting—elevating the fast-food restaurant into a warm, human-centered spatial experience.

The project is organized around a central courtyard that introduces natural light, greenery, and water into the heart of the home, creating a balance between privacy, comfort, and spatial openness.

The space is centered on a courtyard covered by a glass roof, from whose center emerges a tree growing within a water basin, evoking the spirit of ancient Babylonian courtyards. Above this courtyard is a glass roof covered with carefully designed bamboo thatch elements, which filter and gently refract natural light, creating a visual balance between shadows and movement, giving the space a changing temporal rhythm that harmonizes with the moments of the day. The meeting room is designed as a contemporary space that emphasizes clarity and simplicity to support dialogue and decision-making. Creating a Contemporary Retail Experience Through Material Layers. The project was designed as a contemporary retail environment for medical cosmetics and skincare products, where materiality becomes a tool for organizing space and enhancing customer experience.Rather than relying on visual decoration, the design uses a carefully balanced combination of porcelain flooring, custom carpet zones, natural wood finishes, fabric wall surfaces, and brushed metal details to create a clear spatial hierarchy. Each material was selected not only for its aesthetic qualities but also for its ability to define movement, highlight functions, and reinforce the identity of the space.
